Basic Pickle
Ingredients
8 cups of Vegetables or fruit
4 cups of Vinegar
1 cup of Water
2 teaspoons of Salt
2 teaspoons of Sugar
8 Garlic cloves
Peppercorns
Bay leaves, basil
Preparation
Step 1 : The selected vegetables and fruits, such as carrots, potatoes, cauliflower, pumpkin, onion, cabbage, and hot peppers (of any kind), should be carefully washed and cut into rounds or squares, and then cooked in water.
Step 2 : Peppers should be opened at the tip in a cross shape or pierced with a fork, in case they have thick skin it is recommended to peel them.
Step 3 : The next step is to boil water, vinegar, salt, sugar, and herbs in a pot for about four or five minutes.
Step 4 : Once the dressing is ready, place the vegetables in a clean jar, add two cloves of garlic, a few peppercorns, and then pour the hot vinegar over them, making sure they are just covered.
Step 5 : It is recommended to move the jar to remove air bubbles.
Step 6 : Then, clean the edge of the jar, immediately place the lid and firmly tighten the screw.
Step 7 : Let it cool overnight, label, and store.
Step 8 : After five to seven days, the pickles will be ready to enjoy.
