Ingredients

6 Oranges

3 cups of Sugar

2 Strips of lemon peel

1 pinch of Salt

Preparation

Step 1 : It is recommended to start by washing the oranges and carefully peeling them without leaving any peel residue.

Step 2 : Then, they should be cut in half and the peels extracted, ensuring that the peels are clean.

Step 3 : Next, immerse them in water for a few minutes and, with both hands, squeeze them without damaging them, repeating this process three times.

Step 4 : In a pot with hot water, add the peels and let them boil for five minutes.

Step 5 : Then, discard the water, rinse the peels, and squeeze them gently.

Step 6 : Repeat the process several times until the peels lose their bitterness, retaining the orange flavor.

Step 7 : Once ready, add the sugar, lemon peel strips, salt, and enough water to cover them slightly.

Step 8 : Cook over medium heat, removing the peels when they look crystalline and the syrup reaches the right consistency.
