Ingredients

500 grams of Ground beef

2 Carrots

2 Potatoes

1 Onion

1 Red bell pepper

1 Green bell pepper

4 Garlic cloves

1 teaspoon of Salt

1 teaspoon of Sugar

½ teaspoon of White pepper

1 ½ cup of Tomato sauce

1 cup of White wine

1 cup of Olive oil

100 grams of Olives

50 grams of Raisins

20 grams of Capers

Preparation

Step 1 : In a preheated pot with oil, add the chopped onion and bell peppers finely diced.

Step 2 : Then add the garlic and cook for a few minutes over low heat.

Step 3 : Add the diced potatoes and carrots along with salt and pepper to taste.

Step 4 : Next, add the ground beef, mixing well all the ingredients and adding a little more salt.

Step 5 : Cook for a few minutes until the meat starts to change color.

Step 6 : Then add the olives, tomato sauce, dry wine, raisins, and sugar.

Step 7 : Cover the pot and cook for 15 minutes over medium heat.

Step 8 : Finally, add the capers and remaining olive oil.

Step 9 : If the picadillo dries out a bit, you can add the juice of a sweet orange (in Cuba, bitter orange is added).
