Guajiro Pea Stew
Ingredients
1 pound of Pea
1 Piece of bacon, pork bone, or smoked pork
1 Onion
2 Garlic
3 liters of Broth
Bread crumbs
1 pinch of Salt
1 Lime
Preparation
Step 1 : Peas are cooked with smoked bacon or pork bone until almost tender.
Step 2 : Then, a mojo is prepared in lard with crushed garlic, chopped onion, and the juice of half a lime.
Step 3 : This mojo is poured over the peas, and the sauce is thickened with bread crumbs.
Step 4 : Season with salt and pepper, and optionally, diced potatoes can be added.
