Ingredients

1 pound of Black beans

1 Garlic clove

1 Onion

2 Green peppers

1 tablespoon of Oil

Preparation

Step 1 : In a pot, put the black beans to cook along with a slice of bacon or other smoked meat.

Step 2 : When the beans start to soften, add a tablespoon of oil, finely chopped onion, a crushed garlic clove and one or two green peppers cut into strips.

Step 3 : On the other hand, prepare a sofrito with oil or lard, crushed garlic, chopped onion, peppers, tomatoes and toasted oregano.

Step 4 : Pour a ladle of beans into this sofrito, stir for a while, and then add it to the rest of the beans.

Step 5 : Finish seasoning with salt and pepper.

Step 6 : If the beans are too liquid, they can be thickened by mashing some of them.

Step 7 : Ready to enjoy a delicious dish of black beans.
