Preparation (simple version)

Step 1 :

Place the beef in a pot with water, salt, pepper, cumin, bay leaf, garlic, onion, tomatoes, and chili. Cook over medium heat for about two hours, or until the meat is tender.

Once cooked, strain the mixture and set aside the beef. If necessary, pass the soup through a sieve to remove solid ingredients and obtain a clear broth.

Return the beef to the pot, add the chopped potatoes, and cook for about ten minutes until the potatoes are tender. Then add the noodles and cook a few more minutes.

Before serving, adjust the water amount if needed and, if desired, add a few drops of lemon juice to enhance the flavor. You can serve the beef cut into pieces in the soup or reserve it for other recipes.
